Klein Associates Leverages Omnify Software to Ensure Collaboration in Product Development
Web-based PLM Technology Enables Klein to Reduce Cycle Time on Product Updates and New Releases

WILMINGTON, MA. - July 28, 2003 - Omnify Software, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for mid-market electronic, medical, and mechanical OEMs, today announced that Klein Associates, Inc, a leading manufacturer of side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers and related instruments and accessories for undersea search and survey, has deployed Omnify PLM software to increase efficiencies in the product development lifecycle, including real-time updating of information, faster bill of material requests and seamless integration with the existing ERP system, eliminating the need for manual entry of information.

Founded in 1968, Klein Associates, Inc has consistently led its industry in the development of advanced sonar equipment and its technologies have been used in a number of underwater search missions, including the Titanic, the space shuttles Challenger and Columbia, and more recently as a part of homeland defense initiatives. With a reputation for developing the highest level of sonar systems already secure, Klein understood it could advance its product offerings even further and significantly reduce time to market by deploying a product lifecycle management application. Klein began a search for a PLM solution that would enable greater visibility into the entire development cycle, from idea and request for materials, to engineering and manufacturing. The solution would replace Klein's own solution that relied heavily on Excel spreadsheets, e-mail and manual requests, resulting in a cumbersome process for developing and sharing engineering data within Klein.
