Press Release - October 3, 2005
Omnify Software Presenting at ASPMFG RoHS/WEEE Seminar Series
Six City Series Will Feature a Panel of Industry Executives Educating Electronics Manufacturers on Achieving Compliance with the New Regulations

WILMINGTON, Mass-October 3, 2005-- Omnify Software, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for mid-market electronic, medical, mechanical, and defense OEMs, today announced it will be a featured speaker in a multi-city seminar series produced by the Alliance of Service Providers & Manufacturers (ASPMFG) and hosted by Innov-X Systems, to educate organizations on the impact of the European Union's RoHS and WEEE Directives. Omnify executives will discuss how companies can ensure their products comply with regulations well-ahead of the impending deadline.

The RoHS/WEEE Directives will impact every company producing or shipping electronic products or components into the European Union. Japan, China, and other countries will follow suit with similar directives, expanding the scope of such impact. The financial and technological requirements of these Directives will alter the entire business strategy for manufacturers. Poor planning and/or non-compliance can erode margins, cause revenue shortfalls, lead to excess inventory, affect product reliability, and result in bad publicity. The ASPMFG Six City Tour is a unique opportunity to learn from a broad group of industry-recognized experts about the RoHS/WEEE Directives and best practices for meeting compliance.

"The members of the ASPMFG realize that many companies do not understand the regulations or the consequences of non-compliance," said Chuck Cimalore, CTO of Omnify Software. "Through this seminar series we will educate those organizations and show them compliance is simple with the right solutions in place."

In addition to Omnify, the panelists will include environmental attorneys from the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, supply chain experts from IBM and other specialists involved in product development and testing. Following the panel discussion there will be an interactive Q&A session followed by a networking opportunity to meet and engage with each panelist, other knowledge experts and attendees.
