Continuing to deliver the most cost effective and technically advanced product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for small to mid-size OEMs, Omnify 2.8 offers several new capabilities, as well as improvements to the software suite. The new version is a comprehensive PLM system that provides complete Documentation Management, advanced searching capabilities, a new reporting module, and extended user-defined field classification.
Enhanced features in Omnify 2.8 improve the security and efficiency for managing product data even further with full document vaulting, additional permission sets, and improved Material Disposition Matrix.
Complete Vaulting
Enhanced document vaulting supports complete documentation management. This allows for a formal process for changing documents and facilitates easier document collaboration with remote design teams, which enables an easier sharing of documents across the extended enterprise. Users can also vault vendor datasheets. |
New Key Word Search
A new keyword search greatly reduces searching cycle times. Omnify 2.8 features a new proprietary search engine that allows users to specify a key word or search phrase and can search any specified fields within the system. It provides a multi-threaded searching function which allows the system to return search values immediately while concurrently processing a background search, enabling the user to continue to interact with the program while searching takes place. |
Enhanced Attribute Values
This feature provides an easier manner to control the assignment of attribute values by defining fields where user’s can set their own values or must select from a pre-defined list of values.
|
New Extended Attributes
The new extended attributes allows users to assign attributes to vendor parts/items as well as service tags. This helps to clarify/classify specific vendor parts. There is also an extended data set associated with service tags.
|
New Required Fields Option
Users can define fields that must be filled in prior to submitting a new part request or engineering change (ECO). This allows the system to set up defaults that must be adhered to in order to ensure that the appropriate information/data set is supplied prior to submission of a new part request or ECO.
|
Additional Permissions
Additional permissions were developed around service tags and vendor modification, defining which users can modify the service tag information and which users can create and modify vendors. This offers a new level of security, allowing the modification of service tags on the manufacturing floor on a permission basis but does not allow that user to modify other information in the system. |
Improved Material Disposition Matrix
With the improved Material Disposition Matrix, users can specify separate material disposition location fields and actions that can be defined for items affected by change orders. The location fields and actions are user-customizable, permitting fine-grained materials management. |
New Reporter Module
A new Reporter module provides standard reports such as Change History, Used/Unused, and Approved Vendor reports, as well as the ability to compare 2 or more bill of materials (BOMs). The Reporter module consolidates reports from previous Omnify revisions to simplify the tracking of data. |
