Omnify Software’s open system concept provides the mechanical engineer with a variety of choices to manage mechanical part data. Omnify PLM provides multiple ways to integrate existing PDM or documentation management systems to provide the best of both worlds, a PDM tool to manage the mechanical CAD data and documentation and Omnify to manage the board-level electrical content. Omnify can then be used to pull together the system-level BOM and integrate with ERP/MRP systems.
| Omnify PLM provides a direct, read-only view of the database that can connect natively to CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, for part selection. All part data, including where used, vendor data and history are available when imbedded directly on a CAD drawing. |
|
OmniBOM provides a BOM "Sandbox" where engineering can create BOMs in the architectural stage of a project before putting them under change control. Parts can be selected directly from the Omnify database or hand entered into an easy-to-use spreadsheet interface. OmniBOM speeds BOM generation by automating the schematic to BOM flow. A script wizard allows users to quickly create scripts to do “depops”, “adds”, “deletes”, and create multiple board loading configurations from one schematic.

| Waiting on new part request (NPR) approval can take up a substantial amount of an engineer's time. With Omnify PLM, the process is tuned so that part data is immediately available in a preliminary status. The engineer's design work is not interrupted waiting for part approvals.
